Every one needs that one feel good movie to turn to when everything else seems hopeless. Well folks, heres your movie. Now don’t judge this book by its cover. Sure it has Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray in it and looks to be like any other cheesy Disney movie. But look closer and you will see that the bafoons who usually cast these shows finally got that stick out from up their bums and also casted the comically brilliant Jennifer Coolidge (more commonly known as ‘Stiffler’s Mom’) and Regina King.

Spice World (1997) Review

Zigga zig huh. That’s what they said. Posh, Baby, Scary, Ginger and Sporty: those spunky English girls called Spice and their big f***ing shoes. All sparkly and spandexed and with aerosol galore, as of this writing the Spice Girls are no more. And although the zigga zig huhs made no sense, we listened. We listened a lot. Damn those catchy songs.

RV (2006) Review

Director: Barry Sonnenfeld
Starring: Robin Williams, Jeff Daniels
Released: 2006

RV, a live action cartoon of a movie, is the latest offering by Barry Sonnenfeld, the director whose given us such off the wall family fare as Men in Black and the Addam’s Family films. It stars Robin Williams as a bumbling techno-corporate type, a man realizing how adrift and out of touch he is with his wife (Cheryl Hines) and his two unappreciative children. Tired of IM-ing each other when dinner is ready, Bob Munro thinks the best way to bond with his family is by renting a fully loaded RV and hitting a cross country road trip. I hate to say it, but Williams looks like he’s sleep walking in this part, either that or he’s drunk. And given his recent bouts with the sauce, I suppose that’s not too far fetched. I don’t blame you though Robbie, if I were associated with this picture I’d probably end up in rehab as well! (The guy goes from Good Will Hunting to Flubber, Patch Addams and now this, all in a cool decade… has to be rough!)

Enchanted Review

You can imagineer the meeting at DisneyTM on this one. As usual, the suits put on their Mickey MouseTM ears and sit around a big cauldron to stir up trouble. Also as usual, they start by looking at what they already own and can squeeze more money© out of. So they look again at the DisneylandTM rides: PiratesTM, Haunted HouseTM, Mr. ToadTM, etc., and somebody eventually says, “What about CinderellaTM©? We haven’t trotted her out in awhile.” “And New YorkTM–we own New York CityTM now, don’t forget.” So they come up with a story putting CinderellaTM© in Times SquareTM.

Alvin and the Chipmunks, 2007 Review

Mostly, this movie about three singing chipmunks is convincingly horrible. My girlfriend, whose singing chipmunk standards are not exceedingly high, went in excitedly giggling and left comatose- so talk about losing your target audience.

The Golden Compass Review

I don’t get what all the religious leaders are all worked up about with this movie. The same thing happened when HARRY POTTER came out. I guess getting kids to read nowadays isn’t cool, since movies like this and CHRONICLES OF NARNIA have sparked not only an interest in the flicks, but the books as well. Knowledge be damned! Ban free thinking! Funny, that’s just what the plot of this movie is about. Rising against a tyrannical ruling force. Just like V FOR VENDETTA, or 1984. But lets not kid ourselves, who’d be afraid of a little girl with a compass, a ferret, and a drunken bear?Well, that is basically the synopsis here. Children, animals, people, all fighting for freedom from a government bent on universal domination. The prime building blocks of a true award winning movie. With way better battles than I’ve had on the toilet when I had too much Mexican food, and a cooler soundtrack than the noise it makes when the plumbing becomes backed up, THE GOLDEN COMPASS is sure to win the hearts of kids and adults everywhere.

Daddy Day Camp Review

I think that while my eight-year-old was away at camp, she made a movie during arts& crafts time instead of the usual ash tray kids create for their parents. That movie could be called Daddy Day Camp. The truth is that she would have actually made a better film then this one turned out to be.
